Forest Hills Chocolatier Gives Easter Sweets To Neighbors In Need

Aigner Chocolates in Forest Hills is donating Easter goodies to elderly residents in the neighborhood and hospital workers as a gesture of support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aigner will deliver chocolate Easter bunnies to elderly residents who may be isolated at home due to the new coronavirus.

The shop is also forgoing its traditional Easter raffle of a 25-pound chocolate bunny to instead donate it to Elmhurst Hospital, which has experienced a surge of coronavirus patients.

"Community is incredibly important to my husband and I," Rachel Kellner, co-owner of Aigner Chocolates, said in a statement.

"We wanted to make sure that the seniors in our community weren't forgotten about and thought delivering some chocolate bunnies would brighten up their day during this very challenging time," Kellner added.
