The Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce is delighted to have as guest speaker Assistant Chief Diana Pizzuti, Borough Commander of Patrol Borough Queens North, at its next luncheon on Tuesday, May 8th at 12:30pm at Dazie’s restaurant. Chief Pizzuti has 25 years of experience serving the Police Department and the city.
“Chief Pizzuti has presided over the most extensive transformation of the Police Academy's curriculum, its rigorous physical education program, and recognition by national accrediting bodies for its overall program and for the acceptance by higher educational institutions of Police Academy courses for college credit. Together with her other, extensive Department experience, Chief Pizzuti will be a great leader for the administration of police services in Queens North,” Commissioner Ray Kelly said.
In addition to her previous assignment, Chief Pizzuti has commanded the 17th and Midtown North Precincts, as well as the Corruption Prevention Division of the Internal Affairs Bureau. She also has served as Executive Officer of the 13th Precinct. A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Chief Pizzuti holds a master's in Education from Seton Hall University.
She succeeds Assistant Chief James Tuller, who became Borough Commander of Manhattan South earlier this month.
PLEASE To make it easy, those eating at the luncheon may pay $18.00 by personal or business check and have it made out to the Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce.
THE NY REGIONAL COMMUTER CHOICE AWARDS PROGRAM
Any business, regardless of size or industry, that employs at least one commute alternative — car/vanpools, transit subsidies, shuttles, telecommuting, compressed work weeks/flexible scheduling, bicycling or has other, comparable initiatives in place — is eligible and encouraged to participate in the Regional Commuter Choice Awards program. If your company promotes any of those benefits, that’s great! Why not let others know about it?
The Regional Commuter Choice Awards provides an excellent opportunity for you to publicize your efforts and get the recognition your company deserves. Participation also sends a clear and positive message to your employees and people in the community that your company cares — in more ways than one.
Getting Started is easy. All you have to do is fill out the short nomination form (http://nymtc.org/project/RCCA/2007_Nomination_Form.pdf) and they’ll take care of the rest.
NYSDOT’s CLEAN AIR NY PROGRAM

Visitors to the new website, www.cleanairny.org, can register themselves or their business to receive notification of expected poor air quality days. The OzoneNY.org site will continue to act as a point of reference for the pre-existing elementary and middle school programs.
